D2146 is used as a drilling fluid washing fluid for use as a “spacer”in freshwater or seawater solutions. It is also designed to emulsify oil-based and synthetic-based mud components into the water phase and to prevent oil-wet solids from redepositing onto the surface of the pipe. D2146 is used to remove drilling fluid and crude oil residues and film from casing, piping and surface equipment.
